Festiva Resorts strives to give back to it's Community

The Festiva Hospitality Group Charitable Fund is a flexible endowment fund that began in 2006 as a way for Festiva Hospitality Group to contribute to any cause that benefits the local communities where employees live and work and to contribute to disaster relief for events of great global impact. The focus is to promote education among youth and eliminate poverty in local communities. The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and expanding philanthropy, manages the fund.

Festiva Hospitality Group and Resorts contributed to the following organizations

Trust for Public Land, a "national, nonprofit, land conservation organization that conserves land for people to enjoy as parks, community gardens, historic sites, rural lands, and other natural places," as stated on their website, www.tpl.org. In 2007, the Charitable Fund pledged $100,000 and again another $60,000 as of 2009.
Helpmate, an Asheville, NC organization that has dedicated 30 years to being the primary provider of crisis services to victims of domestic abuse and their children. Helpmate provides safety, shelter, counseling, advocacy and education to assist victims of domestic violence and help prevent it in the community.
The Boys & Girls Club of Coastal Carolina in Atlantic Beach, N.C. This organization was special to us not only because it offers many valuable programs to local children, but also because an employee and an owner at Peppertree Atlantic Beach both work closely with the organization.
Camp Kemo in the Myrtle Beach area where Festiva has the highest concentration of properties. This annual weeklong summer camp for children ages 5 – 18 is funded solely by donations, and is free for children with cancer and one of their siblings or friends.
American Red Cross-Asheville-Mountain Area for Haiti Relief. A company-wide effort over several months gathered donations from employees and resort guests to send relief to Haiti in the wake of the January 2010 earthquake.
Salvation Army offers a wide variety of services Worldwide. Programs and Services range from addiction rehabilitation, social work emergency response, family tracing and much more.
Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM) is the primary non-profit organization addressing poverty, hunger, homelessness and access to health care for the under-served in Buncombe County. Begun as a small collaboration of churches in 1969, ABCCM has played a significant role in meeting emergency assistance needs for families.

The Festiva Charitable Fund committee will soon determine what organizations will benefit from the Fund.

Charitable Fund Golf Tournament

On Tuesday, May 8th, 2007, Festiva Hospitality Group held its first Charitable Fund Golf Tournament at the Wachesaw Plantation East golf course in Murrells Inlet, S.C. The tournament was a huge success and over $40,000 was raised to put directly into the Festiva Hospitality Group Charitable Fund.

In 2010, Festiva held its 2nd Charitable Fund Golf Tournament at Ellington at Wachesaw Plantation East in Murrells Inlet, SC. The event turned out to be a huge success with nearly $40,000 raised through sponsorships, player registrations, raffle ticket sales and other donations. Festiva Hospitality Group Corporate Office Holiday Auction

In December, employees in the corporate office held an auction and raised over $12,000 that was donated to the Salvation Army and the Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry to buy Christmas gifts for families in the Asheville area. The company matched the $12,000 employees raised and put that amount into the Charitable Fund.

Employee Donations

All Festiva Hospitality Group employees have the option to contribute a portion of their paycheck to the Charitable Fund.

The fund is managed by The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and expanding philanthropy.
